On a scale of 1 to 10, Doug is a 100! He helped me sell my late Dad's 59-year-old house in Dayton, Ohio, and since I live in the Chicago area, he had an extra amount of work to do to accommodate the long distance work, including finding me local suppliers to replace some flooring, getting an estimate for replacing the roof, finding an electrician to install some new outlets, etc. We initially met in my Dad's house, and he gave me excellent advice about pricing the house and especially about emptying the house before we listed it. My siblings and I went through the house and removed items of sentimental value, then Doug recommended an online auction provider and an estate sale provider. I met with both of them, and both advised me that I didn't have enough valuable items to make a profit--in both cases, they would do what they could, but I would end up paying both of them to remove items from the house. I did not want to just throw things away, nor to discourage my siblings from making trips back to the house to take additional items, so Doug suggested a person who organized the emptying of the house and the donation of at least 95% of the contents. My family and I were elated that we were able help others! The house was empty on a Friday morning, Doug had it listed with photos by Friday evening, and we had a full price offer by Sunday evening! Doug expertly shepherded the process between receiving the offer and closing on the property sale, handling the little bumps as they came up. He was extremely responsive to any texts or phone calls I made. I can't say enough about his professional expertise and his cheerful demeanor. I highly recommend him!
